    Through one of the greatest acts of philanthropy in higher education, Olin College was founded for the specific purpose of creating a new student-centered paradigm for engineering education. Starting with a blank slate — with no tenure or departments, and a commitment to continually experiment — we attracted an extraordinary community of passionate people whose innovative ideas have thrust Olin onto the world stage as an exemplar of innovation in education. As a result, Olin changes lives and builds deep relationships that last a lifetime and open doors. The resulting passion and commitment within our community is extraordinary — and is the fuel that propels our growing reputation and influence.
